Principal Recipients for Global Fund Round 9
grant
The Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) of Lesotho
intends to make an application to the Global Fund to
Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria (GFATM) under the Round 9
Call for Proposals. The Round 9 proposal for Lesotho
focuses mainly on education bursaries for Orphans
and Vulnerable Children (OVC) as well as
strengthening of national Monitoring and Evaluation
(M&E) systems for OVC.
Part of the Proposal therefore must include the
selection of approved Principal Recipient (PR) for
the Grant. The GFATM now requires Country CCM to
select PR to oversee the implementation of the
grant. A PR will be legally accountable for the
portion of the overall grant assigned to it. This
includes management of grants to Sub-Recipients and
other implementing partners.
Therefore interested institutions are hereby invited
to submit expressions of interest for the PR role.
The applicants must include in their submissions
their suitability for managing and disbursing large
grants and demonstrate their capacity in the
following five areas:
- Financial management and systems
- Program management
- Sub-recipient (grantee) management and
support
- Procurement and supply management
- Monitoring and evaluation
Written expressions of interest must be addressed
to the CCM Chairperson, and be delivered to CCM
Secretary, at Global Fund Coordinating Unit (GFCU),
Ground Floor, Mafike House, Kingsway,Maseru by May
12, 2009 at 12.00hrs.
